Name: Edward Bishop
Alias: None
AKAs: Eddie
Physical Description
Hair: Short, tussled blond
Eyes: Brown
Ethnicity: White American
Age: 17
Build: Average athletic build, 5'11''
Uniform: Edward isn't an active member of any X-team, and so doesn't have an official uniform
Personal Style: Eddie favours check shirts, torn jeans, and boots. More likely to wear a gilet than an actual jacket. He always wears a set of noise-cancelling head-phones around his neck, plugged into his phone.
Psychological Description
Personality: Eddie is a slightly surly teen, prone to pessimism and sarcasm. But he's sociable, and loyal to friends. He has slight self-esteem issues, mostly centred around the nature, and uselessness, of his powers. Most animals can be pricks, at least to him, so this often affects his mood, especially when he gets a headache from it.
Relationships: Eddie has a tight circle of friends with whom he has a band (he plays bass). They are Alex Mahroufi, Daniel Treborn and Betty Chang. His cousin Elsie is a junior counsellor at Xavier's schoo; they are close but not especially best friends or anything. Eddie has mostly good relationships with the faculty and other students in the school, with the occasional frought rivalries with his peers.
Powers & Abilities: Eddie can communicate with animals. Or, rather, they can communicate with him might be more accurate. Eddie can't control his power, even when he tries. Sometimes, it's as if he can only understand the animals if they want him to understand him or perhaps don't prevent him from understanding him, somehow. He doesn't always hear it as voices, though this is more common with those animals that are perhaps more likely to have experienced human speech themselves. From most animals, its pictures, feelings or emotions. His power invariably leads to bad headaches, and sometimes migraines. He's sure some animals do it on purpose, because generally speaking most of the animals that do "speak" to him are total pricks. If he wears headphones and jacks up the bass, this can override his power regardless of how hard an animal might try to communicate with him.
Weaknesses: Eddie's headaches can be debilitating, and depending on what instigates them, sometimes quite sudden and/or long--lasting. Besides that, his temper and retaliatory impulses are often his biggest weaknesses, getting him into sticky situations.
Skills: Eddie has no formal combat training or even attended classes as a hobby, but he's been in his fair share of tussles. His bad attitude and moods often get him into sticky situations with certain peers.
Equipment: Eddie is at all times wearing a set of noise-cancelling head-phones plugged into his phone, so that he can always shut animals out whenever he needs to.
Background: Eddie could hear animals from birth. As a child, it wasn't so bad, most animals were quite kind and sweet to the innocent little boy (except, of course, the usual mean loud dogs and such). It was only as he aged and the headaches set in that things went wrong. He became surly, and started to lash out and be less than kind to the annoying, cloying little critters that wouldn't leave him alone and kept giving him headaches, despite how many times he would ask them nicely to give him a break. eventually, tensions rose, and as if the whole animal kingdom seemed to get some kind of memo, animals all seemed to start being total pricks to him, as if purposefully trying to give him headaches or just simply annoy the shit out of him. Some, of course, did genuinely want to speak with him, either uncaring or unaware of any kind of grudges or whatever, but Eddie's bad attitude ws well and truly ingrained in him by now.
It started to spill over into his relationships with staff and peers at his school in Three Rivers, Michigan, where at the age of 15 he was perilously close to being expelled for starting fights, and bad-mouthing or talking back to teachers. It was Elsie that suggested he transfer to Xavier's school, where she could look out for him, and maybe help him through his issues. He barely engages in the latter, but the move toXavier's school has helped in a lot of ways. He's now not the only student in school to have peculiar issues, and though he still has a bad attitude and tussles with some peers, he found himself accepted by a tight circle of friends that he finds much comfort in. Daniel, Betty and Alex take him as he is, each having their own issues, all outcasts in their own ways, creating a tight-knit little family of freaks.
