Ethnicity: White American with close British heritage (grandparents on mother's side)
Age: 22
Build: Average slim build, 5' 6''
Uniform: Elsie doesn't typically undertake missions, not a part of any active X-team, and so has no need of an official uniform

She wears sandals, large wire rimmed glasses, an assortment of wristbands, bangles and necklaces with trinkets, talsimans and gem stones, and always a fabric headband to hold her long hair out of her face.
Psychological Description
Personality: As an empath from a young age, Elsie has a strong interest and understanding of emotion and psychology. She is a kind, considerate person determined to make a difference in peoples lives as a counsellor and therapist. She has a very liberal and analytical approach that helps her to avoid being too affected by the feelings of other, or judgemental.
In fact, she can sometimes be too liberal in some estimations, as she has no qualms in directly affecting the emotions of others (upon request) to help them avoid negative emotions, or experience positive ones. She will only ever do this on request, and only if they agree to be under her supervision, looked after by a trusted individual, or meet other particular conditions depending on the situation. And only if she believes that they understand it is not a fix-all, merely a temporary experience that might even leave them feeling worse afterward. But it's a better alternative to most other mood-altering substances etc. She respects their choices, as long as they understand the potential consequences. Elsie makes a nice little sideline from this, and genuinely sees no harm in it between aware and reasonable individuals, even if she must accept that it is... less than legitimate.
Despite her kind, almost meek demeanor, Elsie is also not averse to using her abilities more aggressvely against those she feels deserve it, or in defense of herself.
She herself is quite a stable individual; aware of, in touch with and in reasonable control of her own emotions despite her abilities. A vegan, however she justifies eating cheese because a cow that isn't milked only suffers discomfort, pain and infection, so why waste the natural product it yields? She's also a bit of an eco-warrior, but not especially in peoples' faces about it. She's also quite musically minded, a fan of and talented with both piano and violin.
Relationships: Elsie has been a student at Xavier's school from a young age, so familiar with many of the staff and other students, with a few close relationships. She was never particularly a part of any of the groups in the limelight of being popular or active X-team members, however, always a bit more in the background. She left the school to atten college and obtain a degree in psychology, then returned to the school as junior staff while undertaking a masters and PhD programme in counselling and psychology; as such she has some connections in the field here and there, some college friends she is still in touch with, and now has stronger relation ships with some of the staff.
She's very close with her parents who still live in Michigan, and her younger cousin Eddie is also a student at Xavier's school. They are close, but not best friends or anything like that.
Powers & Abilities: Elsie is a gifted and powerful empath, but rarely engages the full breadth of her powers. She has 8 empathic eyes that appear like eye shaped petals of light floating around her head. Usually invisible, when she is using her powers she engages them and they become visible in variable colour and combinations; the more power she uses the more eyes are engaged. The eyes all have fixed positions; two hovering just before her own eyes, two just above floating in front of her forehead, two more above that and slightly further apart from each floating over head, and the last two, each either side of her head on level with her temples. If she is wearing her headband, the eyes in those locations appear to be pressed under them against her head and can be seen glowing through the fabric; it's unclear why this happens.
At all times Elsie can be aware of the emotions of those around her as if she's hearing their feelings like voices in the room. They can just be as like that basic background noise, and be able ignore them entirely, or focus as though she were eavesdropping on a conversation picking one or more individual out; this typically doesn't make her eyes visible, unless she has to focus hard or delve deep. She can directly affect the emotions of others, and depending on what emotions she's affecting as well as what her emotional state is in that moment, the eyes engage in different combinations and numbers depending on how much power she needs to use.
At full engagement, with all eyes active, Elsie has the potential to inflict massive and devastating psycho-emotional damage, literally tearing apart a persons mind through her powers affect on the emotional foundations of their psyche. She has never done this intentionally or in anger, but is aware of the possibility as she has used her powers aggressively in the past and just instinctively knows how much further she could push them.
Weaknesses: Elsie's complete lack of combat or physical training leaves her vulnerable in dangerous situations where she has no more ability to fight back or even run with any decent discipline. She is quite slight and never took part in any sporty disciplines at all, so hasn't really even developed a standard level of physical strength or endurance.
Skills: Elsie is very knowledgable in the fields of psychology, counselling and therapeutic treatment, currently undergoing a masters and PhD. Her general and intrinsic insight into human emotion is also quite advanced. She is a talented pianist and violinist.
Equipment: Besides a piano and violin in her room, and various normalbits of stationary and what not for her role as a school counsellor, Elsie needs no other equipment as she is not an active member of any X-team.
Background: Elsie Bishop was born to parents Jacob and Sarah Bishop in Three Rivers, Michigan. Neither of them are mutants themselves, but Elsie's grandmother on her mother's side used to make a living as a psychic in Britain, and does in fact have the mutant ability of clairvoyance; seeing the history of objects if she can hold them. As such, her family has always been quite accepting of mutant kind. When Elsie's abilities manifested quite young, plans were quickly in place to support her as she and they grew. Unlike many, Elsie never had any especially negative or dangerous experiences with her powers. There was some bullying from kids who thought she was reading their minds, or parents with less accepting attitudes. But they took it in stride, and no major incident ever came to be, as she was a well behaved and generally well liked young woman who never actively used her abilities in any vindictive fashion.
Elsie grew up supremely curious of human emotion and psychology, exposed to the experience of complex emotions from a very young age. This helped her mature quite quickly, rather than affected any concerning pychological conditions or habits. As this curiosity blossomed and her powers continued to grow, Elsie's grandmother contacted her old friend Charles Xavier, who gladly took Elsie on as a student. Who best to support her lofty goals than a fellow psionic and accomplished academic in the same fields?
Elsie was 13 when she moved to Westchester, and the gift of early maturity helped her acclimate and adjust quite well. She still had frequent contact with her parents over the phone, internet and in person when they would visit the school or she'd return home on weekends and holidays. Elsie never showed any interest in developing the offensive capabilities of her powers at this stage, but she quickly became aware of the potential of them as she continued to learn and grow. For her, it wasn't hard to exercise them to an extent she was comfortable with, and instinctively know how much further she could push them with all the evidence available to her.
Elsie left Westchester to attend college in Florida, obtaining a degree in Psychology. She then returned to Westchester as junior staff, fulfilling practical experience criteria while undertaking a masters and PhD to become a fully qualified counsellor and therapist. Her liberal use of some of the aspects of her powers wee a result of the liberal lifestyle she enjoyed at college. She never fell into the traps of drugs and drink, and helped some of her fellow students to avoid the destructive affects of such by helping them experience extreme emotion with much less consequence. There were some occasions where what could be considered withdrawal effects, or other negative effects occurred, which she learned from and changed her practice. But she never refused as long as she felt confident everyone was being responsible; it was still better than the alternative. It was also at college she firt ever used the more aggressive aspects of her powers, when said individuals suffering withdrawal tried to pressure her, or other people tried to pressure her in other ways, and she engaged her empathic eyes to stop them in their tracks with little to no remorse. She became more willing to make people feel the consequences of their actions whens he could as she became more confident in herself.
Now settled back in Xavier's school, Elsie acts as a junior counsellor for the students while completing her courses, but also continues her sideline in emotional experiences. She's very responsible, and very careful when doing so, and in certain cases will share pro bono, never intending any harm, but her liberal etics and morals prevent her from refusing without good reason. Everyone's choices are their own, after all.
